 Congrats Antz! - Frozen Planet
I was watching the latest episode of "Frozen Planet" these days and especially at the end I began to wonder where I had seen those TL clips before. Of course in end the closing credits confirmed my hunch that it was Anthony from the forum here. Congratulations Antz! Maybe it's just me with a special interest in the Arctic/Antarctic, but in my opinion the program is (again) simply fantastic (narration and visuals). Lots of beautiful cineflex and highspeed wildlife shots. In case you haven't heard about it yet: YT-Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Fshnu_SwAgHomepage: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00mfl7n

Re: Congrats Antz! - Frozen Planet
It was a great group of people working on it down here. Alas I won't get to see it myself until it comes out on Disc. They aren't showing it in Antarctica.

Re: Congrats Antz! - Frozen Planet
Let's hope they don't show it in the final episode, or you'll never get to see it.

Re: Congrats Antz! - Frozen Planet
This is a great series - congrats, indeed! I'm in the area of the frozen planet called Canada, and the only way I get to watch this (and all sorts of other fabulous BBC documentaries) is by downloading from a torrent site called uknova.com. Great free site - all the content is publicly aired stuff in the UK (is taken down if later released on DVD). Not always taking members, but worth the effort to keep checking. Just a tip

Re: Congrats Antz! - Frozen Planet
cool bean, congrats ANTZ - however looking at this as a motion graphic artist I just ask why the heck can't they center every name? - it looks like a mistake timt

Re: Congrats Antz! - Frozen Planet
Antz, I see you got a credit in the book version as well. Any shots of yours in there? Can't wait to see the film.

Re: Congrats Antz! - Frozen Planet
I'm not sure about the book, I supplied the original photos for the time-lapse sequences of mine they used though.

If you're curious about life as a natural history cameraman, Gavin Thurston did a Q&A on reddit a few weeks ago, http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/hm9rx/iama_wildlife_cameraman_who_has_worked_on_human/

Re: Congrats Antz! - Frozen Planet
That looks completely amazing! Congrats Antz.
I've seen the underwater starfish time-lapse but not that click of the water freezing until it reaches the ground. That is just amazing they caught that. Wonder if it was intentional or not?

Re: Congrats Antz! - Frozen Planet
My 21 years in the BBC were spent initially as an engineer making sure the audience got to see the programmes others had made and, for the last 16 years, teaching that job to new recruits and existing staff. I was very proud to be part of the same corporation that made all those 'Life' series, though anybody who has ever visited the world famous Natural History Unit would wonder how such wonders came out of such a ramshackle place. You won't be surprised to hear that Sir david Attenborough is a bit of a hero of mine.
It's great to see the tradition of great natural history programmes still continuing. And great to be able to say that I 'know', in however limited a way, one of the contributors.
Keep up the good work Antz!
Kit
