Today I ordered the upgrades to v11 for Adobe Premiere and Photoshop Elements. This is a software download, involves no shipping costs, comes from the same server wherever you order it from.

So why is it that when the online shop discovers I'm in Australia the price goes up from $120 US to $162 AU ?!

The Aussie is currently worth more than the Greenback, the price should go down!

OK, whinge over. Could be worse I suppose, I could be living in the USA

Because the two elements programs do everything I need right now and I can't afford CS6 anyway.

One of my this-year-next-year-sometime-never projects is a complete workflow using Linux freeware. At long last there are packages that can do what most of us amateurs need. Just think how much extra photographic and computing power you could afford without paying Microsoft or Adobe!
