Post a way to find members in your local area
Hi, i have been reading through this forum and i was wondering if it is possible to find forum members that live near to me. Thought it could be a good way to meet people in my local area who might be willing to meet up and discuss time lapse in person. Thanks

Yes, discussed, but not solved.

I was a member of another PHPBB-based forum that had a membermap.php link that would accomplish what you are asking about. I don't think it is very difficult to implement. I agree it would be a good thing. I live near the San Francisco Bay area, and I know that a number of other members of this forum are in the SF Bay area -- it would be very nice to be able to use the map feature to get a list of usernames to try to PM to see who is up for some "face time".

one of the main resons i joined this forum was to meet people that i could meet up with. I find that even an hour of practical face to face time with someone is far more educational than 6 hours on an internet discussion.

Yeah, actually is not that difficult. I used to work with vBulletin forums system, I bet it's no so different for phpBB (I mean, if you want to mantain the forum's style)

There is a meetup group for southern California that occasionally go on group shoots:

Too bad there isn't one for Northern California. Want to start one?

Why dont they populate the googlemap at

https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=21 ... f6cdfddcc2

Unless they dont like passing strangers?
