I don't have a camera like this but it looks like you can do some cool stuff including timelapse if you've got one of these cameras: http://lifehacker.com/387380/turn-your-point+and+shoot-into-a-super+camera

Re: Cool stuff for canon point and shoots
Very cool indeed. I would definitely try it out if I had a Canon DigicIII P&S camera. But I guess the performance still varies from camera to camera.

I will soon buy a Powershot G9, it has the potential to use the CHDK, but it is not yet supported, they are still working on porting its firmware. I can hardly wait more: http://chdk.wikia.com/

Re: Cool stuff for canon point and shoots
Hi. I went and bought a Canon A620 off of Ebay just to try this out, and actually that is how I got into making my own time lapse images (I'm currently looking to step it up a notch and go into DSLR + time lapse). Using CHDK and some of the scripts that you need for time lapsing can be tricky, but fun. I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Re: Cool stuff for canon point and shoots
Speaking of the G10, I have been looking at the Canon G10, and the Nikon P6000 and I'm having a hard time deciding between them. Nikon is my first choice, but after reading a comparison review, I can see that the G10 is the dominant camera. I wonder how long it would be before the CHDK crew can catch up to the G10. It is compatible with the PClix since it uses the same cable remote as the Canon EOS Rebel. But if you live in the States like me, it's gonna cost $45 since $20 of that is for shipping and the AC Adapter is $70. The fact that the Nikon P6000 has an IR sensor and the AC Adapter is included is a big deal to me. I'll probably go for it. http://www.luminous-landscape.com/reviews/cameras/pocket-battleships.shtml(sorry milapse)
