I dropped my G11 off the railing of the George Washington Bridge several feet (not all the way off it), and it landed right on the lens, making a nasty dent, but it still worked fine. Thing is built like a tank. But that's not why I'm posting.

I noticed whenever I shot dark shots, or still life with black backgrounds, I had a nasty bright red 'stuck pixel' in every single shot (or at least that is when I could notice it), that was a real pain to brush out using aperture batch tools. I mean, not that bad, but a pain when it's every shot you make.

So I sent it back to Canon since it was still under warranty. That repaired within a few days, and sent it back, or so I thought. There is no longer a dent on the lens, so It seems they just went ahead and replaced it with either a new or refurbished model at no charge, all because I whined about a single red pixel! wow!

I love you Canon.

Yeh that is good. I would expect atleast a 2 month wait and maybe a $500 bill

Crashed the lens of my Canon SX30 IS against somrthing and wouldn't work. Sent her up for repairs and it is like new. As long as you fill the papers correctly, comply with their requirements, the process is seamless! Love Canon, too.
