Post How to make Timelaspe with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ20?
Hello everyone,
I want to make Timelaspe with my camera: Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ20
http://panasonic.net/avc/lumix/compact/ ... ll_hd.html # viera-link
-------------------------------
And I'm looking for ideas how to make timelaspe
I want to cuptrue a sunrise & sunset & Houses on the mountain with the sun moving above...
Maybe even moon (don't sure becuse the camra is bed shooting at night...)
And whan I begin I come across with few problems.

Video:
* If I'm recoding a video (720P HD) it's takes a lot of memory it two hours = 16GB.
And video quality does not come out the best.
*but I still don't know any software to timelapse a long video (what software do you know & use?)

I'm looking for a cheap Tripod & dolly (very cheap..)
how do I know it fit for my camra TZ20? (this one will do? http://www.macrotronics.net/images/cosm ... -ln-17.jpg)
http://i01.i.aliimg.com/photo/v0/118396 ... LBS_OF.jpg

Still Pictures:
The second option and best one for quality Pictures and more then video
The problem is that I'm looking for two things:

1. Device / software will control the timing of photography that say 10 seconds he would take my own like this:(intervalometer)
(http://image.made-in-china.com/2f0j00hB ... -TR1N-.jpg )
but I can't found one for my camra I even thing there aren't...becuase it is not professionally.
I only found this:

2. Addition to / instead of controlling the timing of photography I thought about connecting the camera laptop
(perhaps through software? Or capture vidoe card ...maybe wiith the HDMI cable but I don't think there is a capture vidoe card with
HDMI connction ) with the AV cable the image is blur and ugly...
And use other software to cuptre the screen every 10 seconds for example ...

Anyone know of software that maybe can do it without a mobile editing card?
or capture vidoe card with HDMI connction?

In summary:
* A program to convert all long video to timelpase?
* Remote Control / Automatic software will control the timing of the camera shooting pictures as much time (shutter release/intervalometer)
* cheap [u]Tripod & dolly for the camera ( http://i01.i.aliimg.com/photo/v0/118396 ... LBS_OF.jpg )
* Capture vidoe card that traps the image from the camera (via HDMI) and the camera every 10 seconds for example ...
* Do I have the option to connect external power to the camera? (Car's cigarette lighter socket connection or standard batteries)
*Like this moving with the sun: http://vimeo.com/22439234
*What can I do so I don't get sunrise/sunset with too much bright...like this: http://www.aginartgallery.com/paintings ... _beach.jpg

I Would love to here more ideas?
Thank you for everyone that help!

I haven't used an FZ-20 but was considering buying one. It is a useful camera for timelapse because it allows remote shutter release and can be powered by an external DC IN, not just internal battery. Also, it has a wide zoom range and according to dpreview the shot to shot time is pretty short, so it would be possible to do fairly fast timelapse, a pic every 2 seconds say. Also, it can record in 16:9 aspect, which means a little less work on the computer, cropping later.

I use a "Pclix.com" timing device. The upfront cost is more expensive than some other timers, but it has the advantage that with adapters it can be used with virtually any camera that has remote shutter release, so when the FZ-20 dies, you have more choice of what to buy next.

I use QuickTime Pro (on MAC) to assemble the jpgs into a video stream. I don't know what applications are available on Windows, but I did a quick google search of "jpg video stream" and I got tons of referrals for software from shareware to expensive.

Once it's assembled into a movie file, I use iMovie to do edits, add titles etc. Any video editor can be used at that point.

Connecting the camera directly to a laptop to record the images, instead of depending on the card, can also be done. Google "tethered" and you will find software to enable this. I've never done it so I don't know if it can be easily done with all models of camera. If you read about "iStopMotion" (http://boinx.com/istopmotion/overview/), it will give you a good idea of what the software out there can do. Even if you're not on a MAC, you will get a better idea of what to look or ask for. I haven't used it myself.
