Post Canon G-12 pics
I bought a Canon powershot G-12 a little while back, thinking i would save the shutter somewhaton my 550d if i used both for timelapsing. I like the foldable lcd. Anyway heres a coupleof stills from my G-12....

Seems to have a pretty dynamic range and rendering for such a sensor! I cannot believe how many improvements the brands have done these last years for mid-end gear...

Heres another from my G-12 with chdk loaded onto the flashcard. I was able to bump the ISO up to 10,000.

CHDK is excellent. Experts may be able to tell the difference between slr and compact, but the average person cannot. Manu post editing programs will boost the pic and give your pics, timelapse, much higher resolutions, making the pleasing to the viewers eyes.

sure expert will say "sensor size matter"
if you don't do crazy zoom, crop to check errors on your image...so,everything will be pleasing in normal view :)

I bought the G-12 because i wanted something 2nd hand to timelapse with, in order to save shutter cycles on my DSLR. I picked it up relativly cheap on Kijiji.

The CHDK hack is free. All you need is 4g card.
