I'm not spamming guys... I found something that I think we could all make good use of so I'm sharing it.
I just picked up an Fplate from Fplate.Net (they are on FB too). I put an RRS BH20 ball head on it. I bought it for shooting sports and weddings (remote trigger the camera) but last night I tried it for some time lapse footage. The last sequence below is was shot from the Fplate. Even with a ball head this Fplate is very light. I can see it going into my back pack and being used to hold one end of the rail up as well as a number of other uses.

seems like a product for a problem that doesn't really exist. Like the above poster said, a piece of plywood would do the same thing, and only cost about £2.
there are things like kirk photos lowpod - it has a handle and rubber feet - I've used it for some very low angles shots. I did make a plywood triangle but I like the lowpod a bit better.
