Post Long Term material
Hi,

I've been asked many time for long term timelaps for constructions.
This is about 6 to 12 months duration.

I've found this : http://photosentinel.com/buy/
But any other idea ?
I need some controller to shoot only when sun is up and not the weekends.
I need a remote access to check everything is running ok with 4G or Wifi.
I need a data file storage so i don't need to go there every week.

Thanks

I've heard good things about their equipment, but of course I'm partial to my own designs :)

Photosentinel has cellular connection built-into their controller, where it's more of an add-on to ours. You can configure the DigiSnap controllers to operate on a daily schedule (actually multiple configurable schedules). I don't remember if Photosentinel does that, but I'd be surprised if they don't.

We've been making systems for 10 years, and have shipped about 3500 systems for use all over the planet.

Good luck with your project.

Indeed, the DigiSnap 2000 series controllers were first started back in 1999! Back then, a serial port interface wasn't unusual. Even now, it's certainly not difficult. They DigiSnap 2000 line has been such a successful 'workhorse' that we are still manufacturing them.

We do have plans for new controllers, but each time we get close to releasing a new design, we find that technology has marched beyond us, and that our 'new' design is not as advantageous as when we started the design.

Not with the DigiSnap controllers... they will shoot every day. We made this decision intentionally, to address the occasions where construction crews work weekends without notice. It's much easier to discard images than to re-create them.

Mark just keep that DigiSnap like it is, sooooooooo reliable and very easy to use on my Mac
bziegler, the DigiSnap is not hard to use and trust me when you have a camera out in the field for long periods and only checking up on them once in 5 or 8 weeks this is the good old DOS systems are the best and most reliable.
THEY WORK, unlike other systems I can not say the same about them. Trust me, having more than 30 DigiSnaps I sleep at night as i know it's shooting. Great programming options.
