Post New video channel at VIMEO for moco stuff.
Hey guys and gals,
i just started a new channel that I hope will bring together all the cool rigs, pro and homemade. I did a search and started adding so I hope it is cool with anyone here who's video I might have snagged, D1 I got one of yours. I am looking for videos of the rigs themselves but would also except the footage produced by them.
Hope everyone finds it helpful to have all this stuff in one place. The reason you may ask is that I did a search on vimeo and found that there was no such channel to be found! So I figured why not. I love this stuff and love to see what others are doing, gives me ideas.
Whoops! Forgot the link, my bad.

Cheers,

Doug.

P.S
Got a new rig built just last week and will post some pics and footage later.

Good idea, you've got a few videos listed already! I started (for fun) shooting a 'behind the timelapse scenes' timelapse video over the weekend, generally of the rig moving, and whatever I happen to be doing in the background.

Thanks guys. Sounds cool Karl. When your done just post a link here and I will add it. One thing I am finding is that the Mark Roberts stuff is everywhere! I could easily have a hundred videos of just the Milo in action. I will dig deep and find as much variety as I can.

Cheers guys.

nice idea :-)
i had been contemplating something of a similar notion as i notice there is usually one or two motorized sliders and half a dozen sliders on tracks or wheels on ebay for sale
i know there is a few of you guys that make these things for a living and i got to thinking how to drag some of them people into the forums. the only thing i could think of was a "timelapse forums generic slider " that could be added onto perhaps or mods for the ebay units to allow improved functionality which you guys could then sell. personally i am at the stage where i am happy that i made my own motorized slider however not interested in building a bunch of them.but for the next level of advancement i'm interested in at least one maybe two of sl's little aperture motors for aperture and focus control as soon as i am affluent enough . i dunno if it's a good idea or terrible idea but i thought i'd throw it out there for you guys to chew over

Great job you're doing Doug K. It looked like it was a necessity because sometimes I spend time looking for things related to see the state of the art.

A hug!

Thanks Mslider. I just love this stuff and I scour the web for BTS and DIY vids and I thought why not just group it all in one place. I will take any vid that shows someones home build no matter how do it yourself it is:)

I know that in the old days of moco it took a long time to do shots and the guys did not have the little handy cams or video phones we have now but I am still going to try and find any vintage footage out there. Maybe drop Doug Trumbull an email;)

Cheers guys.

Thanks from me also. Its very informative. I'm not halfway through but having a good time watching. (made me realize how much of a nerd I must be, actually preferring it to zombie apocalypse punctuated by political ads)

All my stuff was on Youtube, so I made this short clipshow taken from several focus motor demos. After cutting some clips together with no regard to the narration, I ran it to see what the sound was like. I expected to redo all the sound except some background noises. The sound of the short clips was so hilarious and almost on point that I left it as-is except for a little bit at the end where I say we make the best focus motors. (we do)

Now the moment of truth as I wait to see if it rates inclusion in the great vimeo moco collection.

I used the h264 vimeo settings when I output the file and it almost played well here. After uploading, it plays very badly on the vimeo site. Not sure if their codec is murdering it or if my internet connection is so bad that it can't keep up. Hope its my connection. Lots of videos play badly on vimeo for me. Some are almost like slideshows.

Hi Doug. below is a clip of an early (2009) profile style dolly for your collection.
You've created a great resource for those researching rigs..

Are you interested in 'vintage' early 1980's and1990's rigs?

Hey Matt,
yes of course I would love vintage vids. Consider it added to the channel.
Cheers!
