I've noticed people have mentioned the Mumford Time Machine in different postings. I conclude from the various messages it is a really good piece of kit, but a bit steep pricewise.
I wonder if anyone has used the Camera Axe
http://www.cameraaxe.com/ ? I've looked at this site a few times and am seriously considering placing an order. However if some of you could give me an opinion based on personal experience, it would be a big help.
It doesn't do time-lapse (interval) timing out of the box, if that's what you're looking for.
However, it is open source (Maurice is a cool cat), and it is basically powered by an Arduino... So, if you buy the FTDI breakout board (
http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/produc ... ts_id=9115), grab some breadboard, and read my tutorial on making Arduino intervalometers here:
http://openmoco.org/node/88 ... You could be shooting with this thing in one night with a little coding.
If you're only buying it as an intervalometer, and not to do all the other shooting types it's doing, you might want to save some scratch though. That's a really expensive intervalometer that isn't yet an intervalometer =)
(edit: I see where I might've misunderstood you here...)Additionally, the mumford and the axe are two totally different beasts with two different purposes in general, but a single common function: to trigger high-speed or sound-based photography. Is that what you're trying to achieve?
