Post subject:  Furio from FX Motion...and loads of questions from a newbie

I am currently researching on available rental equipment in Denmark and the nordic countries for timelapse, and came across the Furio set up from FX Motion ... http://www.fx-motion.com/ ... and I wonder if anyone here has an idea if it´s pretty easy to make it work in a timelapse setup.

My knowledge is pretty limited, although I have both researched on the subjct, here and there, especially here, lately, and have worked with Ron Fricke a year ago as Magidson Films danish production service provider and location manager. But as a cinematographer I have never performed any timelapse myself.

From what I can see, this Furio might what I am looking for, except that I have no idea if there is some kind software available to make it work in a timelapse setup. Just by researching I felt pretty attached to the Camblock system, but I cannot find it anywhere in Scandinavia. I can get a pretty fair rental deal on the Furio and might even get a Talon head in as an extra standalone head for other time lapse sequences. These are my reasons to pursue this deal.

Other solutions would be either to ask someone around to buy the Camblock, or simply hire Ron Fricke and his setup for the parts of the job that requires timelapse.

Sorry for the long introduction to my puzzled thoughts, but I hope you can follow me?

Smaller than a Millo

But still big if you plan to do time-laps outside !
You should check minimum speed too !

ha ha......well yes, I know this one, but it´s a little bit too big for this job, which require quite a lot of travelling with planes, 4 wheel drives and husky handlers to around 12 locations......so, I´ll keep it mind for another occassion

But thanks anyway

Exactly! That was my first idea, and it fits pretty well into what we are trying to perform.

I just can´t find it around here.......as a rental deal.

But yes, I will check out the minimum speed regarding the Furio as well. I have requested some answers from FX Motion, they just haven´t answered me yet, and I don´t even know if they ever thought of timelapse?....well, I guess they have at some point, but I found this website to be rather wellpacked with skilled people, and decided to ask this panel of professionals

Another very popular solution is making your own setup !

you can see mine on this page : http://www.timelapses.fr/?page_id=3
It has changed quite a bit since i made that video but the basic idea is there.
3 Axis motion control. Easy packing. Easy configuration has i made it i know how to change it ;)
