Yesterday After work popped over to the engineering division and started playing with Scrap Stainless

I set out to build a Head rest Mount so I could achieve a somewhat stable mounting platform for my DSLR in place of the rear head rest..

Initial Test came out ok... Rear Seat needs to be stabilised a little more

and the legs slightly straightened to get a Level Mount (its only out by a degree)

i even mocked up my own little tool-less securing mech for locking the camera on :)

Heres the first test lapse with the photos at the end of the vid

I since tidied it up a little and recut the foam pad at the top to be square the camera locks down nice and snug and moves very little.. but will get a tension tie and tension that rear seat some more :)

its comprised of

- 12mm Thick Stainles Rods cut to even lengths and then ends heated and bent to roughly 20degrees
- 15mm Thick Stainless Flat Bar
- Flat Washers Spring Washers and a Circlip to retain the spinning thread
- a flat washer cut in half and welded to the head of the bolt used for fixing the camera down :)

And of course you could easily add a tripod ball head for changing angles of view etc.
