 Draganflyer X6
Behold! The object of my desire: http://www.draganfly.com/uav-helicopter/draganflyer-x6/?gclid=CJeh7PTI7ZYCFQHHGgod5l4KrwI wonder how difficult it is to fly this thing. I've actually never flown any RC planes or helicopters but I know it's especially difficult to fly a normal RC helicopter. Anyone have any input?

 Re: Draganflyer X6
How much does it cost? Note tiny payload.
We'll probably be seeing more flying devices that are controlled by telling it what to do, not how to do it. I can't imagine directly controlling that thing.

 Re: Draganflyer X6
Something like that might be perfect for the fixed-lens 3K Scarlet HD camera. I wonder how much vibration there is, though? The demo video looked really shaky, which would be a deal killer.
I could think of MILLIONS of awesome shots I would love to get with a little chopper like that!

 Re: Draganflyer X6
I was talking to a guy who was into radio controlled helicopters a while back, and he reckoned that buying them out of Asia directly you could get a pretty good big rig (2 meter rotors) for under $3K that would be able to handle the camera payload well. It would be a lot cheaper to go for a fixed wing option of course. I'm tempted to get into as a side line.

 Re: Draganflyer X6
Don't you need a controller, though, to really get the most out of a simulator?
Would getting a little $200 cheapy one give me any idea about what operating a larger remote heli might be like?
Of course, one of the problems is, I would want to fly the thing AND control where the camera is aimed. I guess in reality it would have to be a two-person operation.

 Re: Draganflyer X6
I might pick up a cheap 6-channel one with practice/sim software that attaches to the PC. Hehe.
