Post Anyone used item24 extrusions? Advice needed
I've been working on a DIY dolly but I'm getting nowhere with the rails I built. So I started looking for some extrusions available where I live to see if I can build something similar to the Stage Zero. Checking item24's catalog (thanks Chris!) I found the following extrusion:

It's quite similar (in dimensions) to the 1030 profile the Stage Zero uses. I think I'm gonna go with a 1.80m lenght rail, but I'm not sure if it will support 3kg of gear (camera, lens, grip and ballhead).

What do you think?

PS: it's impossible to buy 80/20 products here.

PSS: the other alternative is getting an Igus rail, but I'm not quite sure about using that system.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Yes, it will definitely support 3KG, but you will need center-support for longer runs.

Will need to make some adjustments to get the S0 kit parts to fit, maybe just some spacers? The linear bearings may be the wrong size for those slot profiles too.

With center-support you mean using a tripod to support the extrusion? They sell minimum 3m per piece, so my idea was to cut it and have one 1.80m piece and a shorter one of 1.20m.

As for the linear bearings, they have these:
- http://catalog.item24.us/product_info.p ... -5-5e.html
- http://catalog.item24.us/product_info.p ... -5e-L.html (this one with threaded bores)

Looks like a perfect fit, right?

Thank you for replying, you are always so helpful :)
