mount a drill chuck onto my mumford table
so I want to mount a drill chuck onto my mumford table so I can suspend things over the table like an apple on a rod for example. I look at drill chucks and you can get a 3/8 mount but it is 24 thread instead of the 16 thread that the sherline table currently has - so is there some adaptor I can use to mount the drill chuck onto the table, any ideas?
Thanks, Tim T

If you can't locate the correct drill size mount, could you get a (brass) rod fabricated with the correct threaded pitch on the base - or will this not give you the stability you may need?

Re: mount a drill chuck onto my mumford table
so basically I can make my own adapter 3/8" 24 on one side and a 3/8" 16 on the other - thank, I didn't of that - I have a neighbor that has a ton of tools so I may be able to have him help me - or I could get a couple of speed threaders and a rod. is brass easier to thread?
thanks, Tim T

Re: mount a drill chuck onto my mumford table
I found an automotive stud that is already 3/8" 24 thread on one side and 3/8" 16 thread on the other so it looks like I need to head to a automotive store.
