Re: Elbow Bracket for Mumford for up/down pans
I made this bracket out of a piece of aluminum angle I found in the remnant pile at an industrial metal supply shop. I believe its 0.250" thick, but I never actually measured. Just wanted something that I knew would be plenty strong to hold the mumford. Just drilled a hole in the center of the 4"x4" section to attach to the tripod, and then drilled another hole in the 6"x4" section that centers the rotary table's baseplate over that section of angle.
I'm only able to use this on the tripod head because I replaced the original 3/8" 16 (1.5" long) bolt with a 2" long bolt... otherwise the plate is too thick to mount directly to a tripod and secure with a nut. But, if you were to tap the hole for 3/8" 16, you could conceivably thread the bracket on your tripod.
