Post Merlin or Allview ?
Dear Everybody,

We're thinking about buying a robotic head for timelapses and 360┬░pano. We're quite undecided between a Merlin and a Allview.
What would you suggest?
We're not really interested in gigapano, anyway.

Thanks for your help!

I haven't used an allview, but the specs look decent.
The merlins do an ok job for the money, but require relatively calm weather.
My preferred mount for budget purchases is a heavy duty cast Orion equatorial mount, rock solid in windy conditions, but a bit heavy for mounting to most dollies.

Does the Merlin Synscan and Allwiev controller have similar features when working with timelapse? In promotions they say that Allview is very innovative and versatile. And does Synscan work without computer control when working with panoramas? It's almost impossible to control gear with computer in winter conditions.
