Just announced: the new VIEW intervalometer from Timelapse+
Hey everyone! I'm back with an exciting new product launch: The new VIEW intervalometer fully automates the holy grail and allows you to preview your time-lapse even while it's still running! Live on Kickstarter now: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/el ... i-camera-rHere are a couple sample 18-hour clips (no deflickering or exposure adjustment): https://vimeo.com/159801326https://vimeo.com/159866452Thanks! Really nice controller! Will it control the DP motors like the TL+ or will this be done with the DP app?

Thanks!
It will have full NMX integration just like the Timelapse+, additionally with the option to connect by USB instead of Bluetooth (Bluetooth works too, though).
This enables synchronized multi-axis keyframed with focus, variable intervals, etc, as well as motion setup with liveview on your phone.
Thanks!
Elijah

Wow. This actually looks like it works properly. If you can please do one in an urban environment that would be cool too Qs Is this running in bulb mode? How is it doing the ramping? Where are you shipping from? Can this control more than one cam at a time?

Re: Just announced: the new VIEW intervalometer from Timelap
Thanks! Someone else just asked for an urban one too -- I'm trying to find an opportunity here to get one in. I live in a small town but just an hour from Minneapolis, so I'll get up there when the weather's good again. Right now Monday looks promising. Jay Burlage of Dynamic Perception tried it out and he did an urban sunrise here: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_ ... =704315888It can bulb ramp, but in all my demos I'm using manual mode with correction written to XMP sidecar files for Lightroom. The VIEW handles all this automatically. This works around bulb mode limitations and allows the full range of shutter speeds (to 1/8000). Overall I'm really happy with this method. The only time I see an issue with it it if there are blown out areas (e.g., shooting into the sun) there will be some flicker on the clipping edge. I'm working on a "protect highlights" ramping mode to help with this. Check out the description of this video for more info on how it ramps: https://vimeo.com/159801326/descriptionIt will be shipping from Minnesota or Michigan. Re. more than one camera: the software doesn't support it yet but I plan to add this in the future. It only has one USB port but multiple cameras will be connected via a USB hub. Thanks for your interest! Elijah

Thanks for the reply! Your controller is the first one I've seen that does what I do, except automatically DSLR Dashboard was always too finicky!

Do you use LRTimelapse as well? How would you go about lifting exposure for the entire sequence?

scotchtape wrote: Do you use LRTimelapse as well? How would you go about lifting exposure for the entire sequence? That's a good point -- right now it doesn't work well with LRTimelapse. I do really like LRTimelapse, though, and use it a lot. My plan for addressing this is to add the exposure adjustment info as text in the description field in addition to the exposure correction and write my own plugin for Lightroom that will re-apply those corrections as a final step after processing in LRTimelapse (no deflicker step needed in LRTimelapse). At present, I've just been using Jeffery Friedl's Timelapse Support plugin (and just have it not change exposure) which does a great job. It just doesn't blend as many settings as LRTimelapse and doesn't do keyframes (so I manually select across my starred images to blend using the plugin one keyframe range at a time). http://regex.info/blog/lightroom-goodie ... se-supportIdeally, I want to make a plug in that will blend all corrections between starred images and apply the exposure correction at the same time, all in one click -- that would be my ideal. Something to be thinking about for sure! Thanks, Elijah

For example you can raise exposure by 1 stop for every frame, adding it to the existing value. I use it to tweak Ramperpro sequences and is great. I think you can do the same with LRTimelapse, I just havent figure out how.

Maybe email gunther and ask him to add that feature in - initialize all except exposure values or something like that.

Have preordered the View. Would also like if the image sequences worked well with LRTimelapse.

Re: Just announced: the new VIEW intervalometer from Timelap
I'll do what I can to make it work well with LRTimelapse. I'll probably just need a plugin that adds the corrections after the LRTimelapse workflow unless I can get Gunther to add an option for me. Thanks!
