Post interesting contact for Bulb Ramping on Nikon
Hello forum subscribers,

For a while I am following discussions about Bulb Ramping for Nikon DLSR camera's.

Today I sent a mail to Linar Edessi, the man behind VP-Remote, the builders of CAMremote
http://vp-systems.eu/camremote.html

I asked him of there is a possibility to make a bulb ramping feature in the CAMremote and attended him on this forum.

Now quoting Linar Edessi:
"Seems very interesting project!
Good news is that CAMremote is able to measure light, adjust camera parameters like aperture, shutter speed, ISO and also control bulb mode which is directly related to shutter speed control. In practice it means that CAMremote is controlling camera both through Remote Port and USB port. It can adjust ISO through USB when needed and control shutter speed very precisely in timelapse mode.
Also new device CAMremote-Wifi is coming to market so everybody can write Apple/Android applications to control camera from handheld device.
This kind of timelapse mode is very interesting and new to me so I'm considering to add such support to CAMremote."

So maybe that some people on this board with more technical background of bulb ramping for Nikon could contact Mr. Linar Edessi ?
Linar is aware of this posting and looking forward to help us out.

His e-mail is: Linnar Edesi <linnar@vp-systems.eu>

With regards,
Bo de Visser

I just sent an email inquiring. It would be awesome if it did.

Very interesting. I just started working on trying to decipher the Nikon USB packets from Camera Control Pro and the DIY Photo Bits app in order to see how realistic the idea creating my own USB host controller for Nikon DSLRs would be (I'd still use the ATMega328 chip to control the shutter duration through the 10-pin port, but USB to control ISO would be very handy).

Looks like it should be doable if this device does what I think it does.
