Post emotimo inspired head
Hi All,

This is my head with which I've been working for some time already. As I like the compact idea of Emotimo TB3, it kills me with the price. I decided to build my own - cheeper ;-))

I failed with first approach as the programming arduino overwhelmed me a little (I feel more comfy with crafting, not programming). After a while of searching I've found miniEngine and immediately decided to get rid of entrails in my box and switch to this solution.

Here is the result:

Hey I built my own emotimo too! I have all the hardware got everything to work including the LCD and the Wi remote. However I couldnt get the motors working. Overwelmed by the code aswell. You ever find a solution what is that you did in the video?

Nice build. It looks just like the real thing. Its even orange.

There is another way to control rigs like this. Dragonframe makes software for stop motion and timelapse which is very advanced, allowing multiple keyframes and curves to adjust speeds and direction of multiple motors.

We make the most inexpensive Dragonframe controller (four channels for $150 on the MiniDF rev 3). We also sell stepper motor drivers and focus motors that work with it.

Our products offer a plug and play solution for the electronic controls of a motion control rig, allowing the builder to concentrate on the mechanical parts.
