Is there a filter for video that creates a long-exposure look?
Basically I want it to merge 60 frames, but only increment one frame at a time.
Example:
8 Frames at a time:
Frame 1= 2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9
Frame 2= 3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10
Frame 3= 4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11
Frame 4= 5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12
Etc...

This way as a car drives by, when it creates a light streak it is not broken into segments. It would look more like the game Snake where the leading edge and trailing edge of the streak move smoothly.

Obviously you can't do this with long exposures from a SLR.

You can achieve the moving snake sort of a look by using the echo effect in adobe, then speeding up the final shot if needed.

Virtual Dub has a "motion blur" filter that leaves ghosts of people walking and cars moving, you might try that.

Here's a sample of what it looks like, I'm not sure but maybe that's what you are looking for.
