I finished watching the last installment of the Hobbit triology at the weekend. I saw the first film in cinemas. I thought the photography was impressive, but I found myself feeling nostalgic for those Jim Henson-style fanstasy movies where you could basically see the strings holding up the puppets. On the other hand, I suppose blockbusters are supposed to awe us above all else, so in that way, I understand Jackson's reasoning. Still, I'll alwys prefer the LOTR ... Maybe that's my main issue.
