Post subject:  Openmoco with DIY Telescope Driver kit

Hi all,

I have built and used a telescope driver kit from Mel Bartel's website http://www.bbastrodesigns.com and wondered if the circuit could be adapted for use with Openmoco?

Originally the circuit is driven via DOS based OS in a real time enviroment using his scope.exe program.

Some of you who are better with electronics and stepper motor based systems may be able to tell me whether it is possible.

Here is the Circuit Diagram for those interested...Picture is too big for forum so provided link instead...

I'm really not sure... but in case you were not aware we are deep into developing an openmoco 4 axis driver with serial communication that is *ahem* the shit.

Well that would most likely be much better :) Sounds good, I have 4 spare steppers waiting to be put on something.. I am still looking to see what is needed for Openmoco, will this need the Arduino board still or is it a completely new development?

The openmoco engine remains arduino based. The beauty of the 4 axis driver with serial communication is we only need something like 4 (?) pins to address it.
