Very interesting camera, I'm still buying the MKiii though!

I'd be very interested to see how the sensor compares to the Mk111 in a direct raw comparison.
Lets face it, for time-lapse none of the rest really matters that much. I would prefer CF cards though.

Yes the lack of a cf card bites, but if you were going shoot stop motion or indoor/studio time lapse it might not matter.

I'm one of those people who don't trust the battery on my android to run a 3hr+ shot. Kind of a deal breaker if that's the case.

Looks like they did get rid of the P/C sync port (found on 5D and 7D). Little Bramper requires one - but you could easily add an inexpensive hotshoe adapter instead.

In my case, yes. The P/C port on my 7D was extremely flaky and the Bramper would often just stop in the middle of a shoot, after losing the sync signal momentarily. I tried a cheap hotshoe adapter instead, and it actually worked more reliably. The hotshoe adapter that worked the most reliably for me was one that had a 1/8" mini-plug headphone-type jack, rather than having a P/C port at all.

The real issue here is that the whole design of the P/C connector itself is inherently unreliable. It's far too easy for the center pin to lose contact with the inner sleeve, with just a slight mis-alignment. Any given P/C port may work great, or it may not. In "normal" use, it's not that horrible if one flash out of 200 fails to fire - but when it stops your Little Bramper from firing right in the middle of a multi-hour run - it's disaster.

Yes, my 5D3 has a P/C connector. I haven't done any bramper timelapses with it yet, though.

I've had that happen with my 7D too and assumed it was the bramper itself. So you're not even using any PC type connection anymore and just going from the bramper to a 1/8" stero eh? Interesting.

Mostly, it's just that P/C connectors are just unreliable - a long-standing gripe among flash photographers. It's a particular weak point for the Little Bramper, though - since this signal tells the Bramper when a shot has been taken, it'll just sit there forever waiting whenever this connection encounters a glitch.

This is the hotshoe adapter that gave me the best reliability with the Bramper:

It has a 1/8" (3.5mm) mono mini-phone jack rather than a P/C connector. Much more reliable, and it's the same connector on the Little Bramper end of the cable anyway - making it simpler to find cables.

Considering the Canon 6D.

Am I right in thinking that bracketed HDR on the 6D is limited to jpeg only?

If HDR RAW is not an option, wouldn't a used/inexpensive mark II make a better second?

I understand the limitations with SD cards and the 6D, but this wouldn't be a deal-breaker.

As far as I know these are the limitations for internal HDR processing and tone mapping. Bracketing is still available for RAW and JPG but a completely processed in camera HDR can only be saved in JPG. I will definitely buy a 6D in summer for my trip to NewZealand later this year.

So, having read through this, I'm still a little confused. Is the Little Bramper any use with a 6D or not? I'm quite new here. Apologies.
