 Timelapse Backpack
Im in the market for a new backpack to carry camera gear, time-lapse equipment and camping supplies. What are the best options for multi-day, time-lapse excursions?
I have heard good things about F-Stop packs. Could I get some recommendations?

 Re: Timelapse Backpack
The options and discussions are/have been endless. I got an F-stop Satori on craigslist for $200 I really like it (except I wish it was black) but it's not perfect. If I were to go on a multi-day (of which I have zero experience with), I would get an actual hiking pack and use an internal padded divider (an ICU from F-stop or similar from other companies). Most photo packs are under 50L, and don't have that much space for normal gear, so unless you are carrying zero clothes, food, and other supplies, I don't know how you would fare with a "photo"' pack. When I go out in the city, I think all my gear weighs about 60 pounds! The rucpac thing looks interesting but TBH looks quite uncomfortable if carried more than 10 minutes.

 Re: Timelapse Backpack
By God that rucpac looks uncomfortable and heavy! I'm having this debate with myself at the moment. I currently put my camera kit in a Lowepro Flipside sport 15L AW rucksack and hang my tripod off the side. I've attached an old camera strap to my Chronos Lite slider and I just sling this over my shoulder, I tried attaching it to the rucksack but I couldn't find a way that felt acceptable to me in terms of balance and security. This is too small a setup for anything other than an hour or so walk so I've been looking at proper hiking rucksacks with support systems that distribute the weight on to the hips+an ICU as scotchtape mentions. To complicate matters I've just got an emotimo so I will need to figure out how that is going to be accomodated too. I was currently considering something like this: http://www.simplyhike.co.uk/products/Be ... under.aspxI really like seeing pics of timelapsers out on location, unfortunately they are mostly of big productions with multiple Pelican cases etc and rarely of one man lightweight setups. Please let us know what you decide on and pics of it in action would be good too!

 Re: Timelapse Backpack
I'm now planning on doing an overnight so I'll update when I get my kit together. Planning on getting either a Gregory Denali Pro 105 (looks like the "best") or a Kelty Red Cloud 110 (bang for the buck).
Still have no carbon slider and will need to get that sorted as well.
I'm thinking of motorizing an iFootage Shark slider I ordered (for video, but I figure I can somehow get my MX2 to work with it if I attach a belt to it).
I'm planning on lashing two pairs of sticks to the outside, but I don't know where the heck the slider is supposed to go.

 Re: Timelapse Backpack
I saw that on cheesy cam, but not on the link you gave https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98o1CORNNCELooks phenomenal, but I probably won't pick it up since it's supposed to cost $2,400 US (guy demoing the unit dropped that at the end - of course still not finalized). The A/B ping pong function and quiet operation are pretty sick. A boy can dream.

Will be interesting to see how much the Kessler solution costs ( I think one axis of motion is around $600)

 Re: Timelapse Backpack
I did a pretty long review on the Mindshift Gear Rotation 180. It's worth a look If you're looking in the Gura/F-Stop class of bags. I can carry 5DMKII, 17-40, 24-105, sigma 35 1.4 A, plus another camera, with lens mounted, genie, slider and tripod in the bag. http://www.certainpointofview.com/2014/08/mindshift-gear-rotation-180-pro-review.htmlThat's too much gear, if you ask me, but you CAN do it. It's pretty roomy and very well built

 Re: Timelapse Backpack
I agree with scotchtape.. I got a FStop satori too, cost me 3x your though......
Still too small, no camera bags will ever be big enough but this would be the best on the market.
I have some overnight trips planned so I'll take some pics when it's fully loaded
