Post subject:  Flow motion or hyperzoom effects

Hi guys,

I have been filming time lapses and hyper lapses about 2 years ago, I have been searching to bring my work to the next level and found a couple of techniques that looks really awesome, they are called flow motion (Rob Whitworth) and Hyperzoom (Geoff Tompkinson).

So, could anyone give a clue about how they reach such an effect?

Cheers,

Gab.

Yes, I´m also wondering how they do this, but it seems that this is a kind of secret that nobody really want to go into details about. Can´t find any tutorial about this effect.

Yes, I already did it and found a "tutorial" but I feel that there is something missing on it.
Definitely this is something that has to go as a trial and error.
Thanks guys for your replies anyway.

Flow motion is not just about technique (although its a huge part) but much has to do with sound and how and when the cuts/transitions occur. If you pay attention to Rob Whitworth's stuff, he has done much to the sound and dramatic cuts are alongside even more dramatic booms, etc. That gives it a whole lot more impact than one that is going with easy-going music.
