that is well zapped :( is it possible to remove it by remapping the sensor?

This thread has some guideline http://www.cinema5d.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=17481

and they say the lasers are eye safe, at least we can blink ;)

Hi,

I read about that the theoretical threat in the past, but never saw pictures or videos that showed actual damage caused by a laser.
Here is another one, also only a few days old.

I wouldn't rely on blinking with something that is as fast as light. ;)

Best Regards
David

With lower powered lasers it's the blink reflex that protects the eye by minimising the amount of laser power hitting the retina. With higher powered lasers all bets are off !

In a public place where cameras are allowed, I would think in most countries a claim could be made against the people who set up the lasers that point at people and camera equipment they break.
While there are different categories of lasers, most reputable setups will never point a display strength laser into a crowd of people, because even with the blink reflex, there could still be potential long term damage to the eyes that is not immediately apparent.

Looks like a badly organised event to me.

Those high powered lasers shouldn't point directly at people...

I have seen them used many times at big events and they normally point them up, and at their lowest point of motion, they still don't point directly into people's eyes.

This is scary to me since I shoot EDM events often. There are also videos of Red cameras sensor get killed by laser.
