Post West USA Milky Way Tips
Hi everyone,

I'm going to do a little road-trip in western USA next September and I would be able to do some sky timelapes, maybe catch the milky way.
We're going through Joshua Tree national park, Mojave preserve and death valley around the 14/15/16/17th of September.

I would like to know if any of you had any tips to not waste this once in a lifetime opportunity for me =)
Any spots you know will look great (no light pollution etc...), things I should know (were to point the camera, when to do this, etc...), mistake I shouldn't make, etc...

I have done some timelapses already but never of the sky yet (some of my stuff are here : https://vimeo.com/maximedehaye).

Thank you very much in advance if any of you guys can help me (and sorry for the bad english :/)

Have a great day !

Another handy site is Clear Dark Sky which has light pollution maps as well as viewing forecasts based on weather, cloud cover, humidity, etc.

Found this link the other night...

Interesting to compare all 3 in layers and see the pollution difference and matches
