Post Help with tracking cloud
Hi all,

I'm new to taking timelapse so I'm practicing around the local area. This happen to me a couple times: Found a good location as I was driving by the area. Come back the next day during the right time (sun position, no rain etc.) and brought all my equipment, but there is not a single puff of cloud to be found. I feel like an idiot standing in the middle of the field.

I'm wondering does anyone know some sort of website/app that would show radar map of cloud approaching etc.? I have been to some Weather site and they only show storm, tornado, etc. nothing about ordinary cloud.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm standing out doing landscape timelapse and is base in Kansas. Thanks!

Go to this website

http://www.goes.noaa.gov/

On the Left you can pick different satellite views and different regions to view.

or - in that situation you could improvise - and point your camera down instead of up, and trace shadows.
