Post 3D timelapses shot in French Britain
Hello guys,

Here are some shots I did last year in French Britain. I've used two 5D MII, and pairs of fixed focal L serie lenses. Cameras were either mounted on a glidetrack rail for short interaxis, or independent tripods for bigger interaxis. I went up to 8m in some cases, but was limited by cables length.
Post was quite complex to correct all alignments and color disparities, but again Shake revealed itself the perfect tool for this job.

Thanks for watching,

David

PS : sorry for the youtube quality. Does anyone know another video host handling 3D files ?

Hey David, that was one of the better 3D time lapse I've seen. You have a good understanding of camera separation. The 3D junkies call it hyper-stereo.

Hi David,

Sadly I don't have a pair of stereo glasses to hand to test the 3D effect but will try to find some suitably coloured filters (our nearest cinema is 1300km away so I won't be asking them anytime soon) to try the effect.

Unusual to hear Brittany described as 'French Britian', though that is the origin of the region's name. I can't help but ask why the choice of a caribbean/USA song to accompany video from Europe?

Regards

Kit

Hi Kit, thanks for your comment. About denomination, I guess I just didn't know how to call a french region called Bretagne (as in Grande-Bretagne), and wrongly thought that Brittany would let think of a UK location. And as you may have noticed, english is far from being my first language ;)
About music choice, I liked the mood out of it, and it was enough. Btw, have you ever heard music from Brittany ? There's honestly no way to use it...

Hi Mike, actually I do host many videos on Vimeo, but there's no feature to display a 3D file. So it can only be seen thru file download, for people owning a 3DTV. Youtube 3D features allow either anaglyph and many other 3D display formats, and red/cyan anaglyph is from far the most "democratic" way to see something, even if it's quite a shame in terms of color rendition.
I've posted once a 3D file on Vimeo, but got only a few views, meaning that about no one on Vimeo is interested in 3D...
It's still there if you wanna test it : https://vimeo.com/23766822

It's an old Robert Mitchum recording, but can't remember the song name. Get a shazam on it!

David, Unfortunately I do not possess the right kind of glasses to view
