Post Looking for someone to timelapse the milky way
I'm developing a new outdoor photography platform and I'd like to showcase it's capabilities in a kickstarter video. I think a great way to do this would be to have a 10 second (or so) timelapse of the milky way in the night sky, since this requires a stable platform and long exposures.

A great example of what the final product should look like is in the excellent video Yosemite HD (https://vimeo.com/35396305), starting at around 2:36. (They are generally using linear slides to add effect to their work - this wouldn't be the case with my photography platform.) Many others exist, but this is one that comes to mind quickly.

Requires a somewhat open mind, the right photographic equipment, and access to dark night sky.

Benefits, in addition to any payment:

1) You will get a prototype of my photography platform
2) You will get pretty high visibility in credits on my kickstarter campaign (Perhaps a short interview as well?)

Would need a finished product by Apr 23rd or so.

Let me know if you are interested, and I can provide more details. My budget for this is not huge - The right person will be motivated by a challenge and the publicity!

Check out my starlapse video to see if you would like any of the clips.

Kaouthia,

I'm in US, but location is not critical to me.

Unozig,

Thanks for the offer, but to make my needs more clear, the objective of this job would be to take my photography platform (which, on first glance, might not seem capable of the job) and produce a great looking timelapse of the night sky featuring the milky way, if possible.

This timelapse would then be featured in my upcoming kickstarter video as "proof" that the platform is stable enough to produce some really dramatic footage in a demanding application (long exposure shots, large DSLRs, etc.)

Thanks for the interest, and let me know what you think.

-Andy

Sent you a PM as I can shoot to order if you like, please reply to PM.
I am shooting a lot of TL this month for my film project. No worries piggy backing onto my shoots :-)

Hey ajstough,

i'm travelling to Death Valley NP in June and planning to do a lot of astro timelapses. I would love to provide you with some of the footage, if June isn't too late for you.

Cheers,

Thomas
