Post Deflicker or similar program for fixing exposure variations?
Sorry if this is slightly off topic but there is a non-time lapse video project that I have shot for a relative in which I foolishly used auto exposure in one scene. I admit that I use manual exposure 90% of the time for my own shooting. With this particular scene, the aperture is opening and closing in response to people (wearing a mix of dark and light clothing) passing in front of the camera, resulting in the picture brightening and darkening again. I was considering going through the footage frame by frame and adjusting individual frames as required but I'm not sure if I would have the patience for that. I tried the Graft deflicker plugin in Virtual Dub but that has absolutely no effect on this footage. Can anyone else recommend some software (preferably freeware) that can even out exposure fluctuations in video footage?

Graft's is one of the best deflicker plugins, maybe you did something wrong.

You can also try LRTimelapse or GBDeflicker.

Not that I know of. I tried different settings with that plugin and it didn't do anything. I also tried the MSU deflicker plugin and that didn't fix the problem either - it only created undesirable effects.

Check out RAWBlend, I think that's what you're looking for http://www.panolapse360.com/rawblend/

If you use raw and adobe bridge - there is a good script: http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=8850 most of the times works like charm. I use it quite often to deflicker time lapses shot with Magic Lantern auto ETTR feature, or general auto when doing sunsets and so on - works well. I also wrote a short article, which I have to expand now because it does not cover all the details, not workaround for several problems I have encountered: http://ansius.lv/deflickering-time-lapse/

Thanks for the link ansius. I use the ML deflicker script too but with varying results. I'll have a read through your tutorial and see what else I can learn.
