Post A Polite Wave from Canada
I've already asked some dumb questions and stuffed a couple of vids on the showcase, but thought I should come and say hello properly. This forum has been an invaluable source of information ..and consolation that I'm not alone in my obsession, ha. It's just a hobby for me, though I enjoy the learning and striving to get better. I'll never be as good as many of you!

I'll have a little cry about what I'm using...
-Nikon D80 (no live view *sniff*) w/ 18-55mm and 70-300mm Nikon DX lenses
-wireless Yongnuo intervalometer
-MacBook Pro G4 2.16GHz Intel, 1GB RAM (I want/need a new one *sniff*) and using a 2 TB Iomega external HD as a storage & scratch disk
-Photoshop CS4 Extended
-QuickTime Pro 7
-Final Cut Express 4

And I live in Winnipeg, Canada.

So.. hi!

Hey Brenda, welcome.

I started with a D70 with a wireless IR trigger, and it was so flaky that it drove me to buy a new camera. I think the D80 supports an internal (menu driven) intervelometer (doesn't it?).

Anyway... Look forward to some of your stuff

Hi! (Great username, btw.) Nope, the D80 has no intervalometer. (Hell, not that I could find - maybe it's me that's flaky!) But this cheap little gadget works pretty well most of the time. *Sigh* my wishlist is getting longer by the day - and even longer the more I read here! At least I finally got a tripod that doesn't wobble when you breathe on it ;)

.. I posted a coupla my recent humble efforts in "Showcase" - any critique welcome! >nudge nudge<

PS - Yes, aperature flicker has become the bane of my existence.

Brenda
