welcome to the forum folks. representing Portland as well. Got a few projects in mind if you two want to collaborate, or anyone from the forum in Portland... not paid, just building my experience.

By the way nice work on Portland Nights Lance, really liked that one

Awesome, thanks. Portland Nights was an amazing experience, I've been out shooting almost everyday for the last few weeks on this new project. Kinda going all out. I'm excited for you guys to see it. I'd be down to collaborate for sure.

What the what - first thing, how did you do the handheld time lapse effect - I'm looking at it and saying "that's not possible!", my guess is using a dolly or turntable and adding a secondary motion in AE, if so it looks flawless.

Second - I'm in this time lapse, but you have to look quick to see me in the starlight parade - about 2:11 in - walking behind the Clackamas High School marching band.

Thanks very cool - would love to see some behind the scenes.

Hey thanks for the awesome response! You are correct, I used the DP dolly rig and a telescope head for tracking, panning and tilting and then applied real handheld footage movement in post by tracking it with after effects and then applying it to the time-lapse clips. Nice that you were in the shot and that you could find yourself in one of the frames.

Okay hold up, it was on the news?! What station? I wish they would inform me beforehand! But awesome anyway, would love to see what they said about it.

absolutely genious!
what a simple yet perfect way to make timelapse clips come even more alive.. more real...
that is so great... chapeau!

i think you could achieve similar results with a wiggle expression... but tracking real handheld footage is also a great idea! :)

It was the weather guy on KGW they didn't show the whole thing but compared it to Ben Carnles (sp?) Portland time lapse.
