Post Hello from Scotland
Hi all, I've been aware of the forum and of timescapes for a few months.

Firstly , to the people tha run / post / share / contribute to this forum ...... Thank you!

Got my blu ray copy of timescapes (AMAZING ) last week so decided to get off the bench and give it a go.

I'm hoping to take advantage of the scenery here in Scotland for some timelapse goodness :)

Still in the learning stages, here is what've got so far (seem to be having trouble embedding / veiwing embedded videos on my iPad )

Still trying to figure out the best rendering options.

I already had cineform (an old version of neoscene) so I used Tom Lowes settings as best as I could (from 16bit AE project output to cineform avi Filmscan 2, 4096 (4K), then into premiere) but my version of cineform doesnt include the option to have 444. How do I know if what I'm outputting is 16bit, 12bit, 10bit or 8 bit? I didn't see a choice in AE/cineform render settings?

Once I've edited in Premier, I output to a 1080p 20Mbps h264 mp4 to upload to vimeo

Also, I only shot jpeg, but from what I've read, raw would be better, so raw from now on.

I noticed quite a bit of banding on the astro one, is that down to jpeg source? 20Mbps too low for vimeo? Something to do with my renders from AE (the cineform files have very little banding that I can see on my PC)

Looking forward to doing a lot more timelapses
