Post Purple Lines
Has anybody ever had purple banding on there photos? It started with in the first 10 photos and appeared randomly through most of the time lapse.

Were you close to power lines or radio tower?

How long were the exposures?

Yes I was close to a radio tower. My settings were f2.8 iso 1600 and 15 sec exposure.

i have not personally heard of radio towers or power lines affecting camera sensors. maybe a possibility i suppose, but i would be skeptical that is the cause

What model camera, what lens, and are you doing any recovery on the image? exposure adjustements in post etc?

Hi Scormak, i found i have similar problem with my 5D mark II and i was searching on line what people say about it. Did you have your camera serviced? Did you find out what the problem is? before to get mine serviced i'd prefer to wait and see if can find some help here it would be really appreciated. The shooting mode is described in the file's name. Thank you.

No I never got it serviced. It stop doing it for awhile and recently had it happen again. I think it might be the card. Either it being faulty or to slow for longer exposures (30mb a sec). Let me know if you find anything out and I'll post if I find out more. Thanks

I got a new card and so far it has not been doing this anymore. I would go ahead and just get a new card instead of the camera serviced, that seemed to fix the problem.

I found out that had the noise reduction turned on and when it's off the lines doesn't seem to appear. But actually, when i shoot video after a while specially when the camera body heats up in very low light conditions, with very dark backgrounds and very low color temperature i get ugly flickering. It sounds wired but I guess lowering the noise reduction helped with the night long exposure shooting. Thank you.
