 Re: Newbie Terminology Question
1 day compressed into a 10 second clip : timelapse. 1 year compressesd into a 10 second clip : hyperlapse ? ........ or maybe when you view timelapse in fast forward mode .... or in reverse mode if you are a little bent.

 Re: Newbie Terminology Question
From what I've seen, it seems like the term "Hyperlapse" is used to describe a timelapse that has motion greater than the 3 or 6 feet of the average dolly/rail contraption. I've seen "Hyperlapses" that used a rig that followed a handrail on a staircase or a railing on a balcony, for example, or others that were simply hand carried and stabilized with AE Warp Stabilizer. Others have used railroad tracks, a cart that rolled down a sidewalk, etc. I think the main idea is that there is substantial movement of the camera during the timelapse, more so than with the typical dolly arrangement.

 Re: Newbie Terminology Question
Yep, it has pretty much been a term we have been throwing around for the last year or two for anything that uses big camera movements well outside the range of a dolly or conventional motion control equipment.
