Post A holy Grail Question, plus some A7 stuff
Hi,

Shooting a day to night, to shoot with no NDs (minimise reflections at night), @ 50 ISO, T 5.6 (minimise lens flaring), I'm still having to use a shutter @ 200th. Is there another way I can make the camera more docile during the day portion, so clouds and such don't look as staccato?

Also, can anyone recommend a prime wide for a sony A7 for night stuff?

Does anyone else get issues with their external intervalometer with their A7, it doesn't want to trigger? Camera also won't let you rotate the shutter/ aperture wheel once it's going? Sometimes it wastes a lot time at the start until it finally sorts itself out.

Thanks all,

G

I can't think of anything other than using a ND filter during the day. A faint bell in my memory says there was some discussion a few years back about ways to mount a filter so that it could be removed quickly between frames without bumping the camera. I think that was back in the days when the forum was full of discussions about the 'Little Bramper' and other external 'B' ramping devices which would have also modified the exposure to compensate.

One possible problem with the triggering is that you may need to give the camera a 'ready' command shortly in advance of firing the shutter. This is equivalent to the half-press of the shutter button and should be a function of your intervalometer.
